Gotik

Lace ribs knitted top down with heel flap.

Pattern is given in a width of 64 stitches in the round. Stitch number cannot be changed – please don’t buy if 64 stitches doesn’t fit you. Width of the sock can only be changed by using thicker/thinner yarn/needles.

Skills required: Knitting in the round, knitting using a chart, decreases, increases, YO, easy lace knitting.

zigzag socks

Size 36 – 39 (US 6 – 7,5)

Very easy to knit standard socks with a little kick of interest by adding crocheted zig zag lines. The lines are made on the go, no extra yarn ends to sew in. Dedicated for all Fingering weight sockyarns which show a colourway or broad stripes. With such a yarn the zigzag lines will show best.
So, if you ever have knitted a sock and are able to crochet slipstitches and chainstitches, this pair will not be a problem.
The reason why the lines are added by crochet is, that if you would make them with knitted slipstitches or cables, they would show the same colour as the garment below. This way you will get them showing a different colour.

flowers

women’s size 38/39 (40/41) [42/43] = US 7,5 (8,5) [11]

This sock pattern is knitted toe up, but uses a “not normal” construction of toe and heel.
You should be comfortable with knitting in the round, two-stranded knitting with weaving in the second strand and knitting by charts.
There are two small parts at each sock which have to be sewn together.

For using the pattern, it is very helpful to print it out with a colour printer.
The pattern is given using coloured charts.

Meeresrauschen

FairIsle sock pattern knitted top down.
The width is given with a total of 77 stitches in the round, due to the fact that stranded socks need extra stitches. This way you are able to use your normal needle size. I usually knit plain stockinette socks with 60-64 stitches in the round, but need 76-80 stitches for stranded socks.

This sock pattern comes in two variations within one .pdf-file.

Knitting skills required: Cabling, easy lace, short rows, k2tog, ssk, knitting in the round.

Instructions and charts are there for both versions. A solid one using cabled stitches and a lace version.

For easier cabling without using a cable needle please see my blog and click to patterns – there is a photo tutorial how I made it.

I called the pattern cross and meet because there are lines which cross each other, meet each other and cross again. Just like people in life……… or like streets in a town?
